As the year comes to a close, we love reflecting on the trends of the last year and predicting the trends the coming year will embrace. Here’s a list of our favorite predictions for the year ahead.
Bold Colors:
Neutrals have been the go-to for the last few years. For a good reason. They’re calming and serene and will always be around. However, we are seeing and loving the bold, saturated colors that are popping up. Color drenching an office in a deep forest green or deep blue. Mixing a deep color with a bold wallpaper in a powder bath. Don’t be surprised if you start seeing the pops of color showing up in different parts of the house this year.
Wallpaper:
Wallpaper has made and will continue to make a comeback. Now, it’s not like it was in the 70s, wallpaper isn’t completely taking over homes. But, we are loving a wallpapered powder bath or a combination of T&G and wallpaper in a mudroom. Just to make a statement, soft or bold, and make it feel like home.
Texture:
There’s so many ways to achieve texture in your design, adding depth and a focal point to your rooms. Some ways you’ll see texture in 2025 include lime washed walls, stone walls and fireplaces, woodwork, and wallpaper.
Designated Spaces:
Open concept living has been THE thing for years. Now, we’re not saying it’s going anywhere, especially in the main areas such as the living room and kitchen. However, we are seeing an increase in certain areas having partially closed off spaces. Breakfast nooks are still part of the kitchen/living room combination but have their own designated dining space. We are also seeing some partial division of the main spaces with half walls or window walls/doors to create some separation but still allowing the natural light to flow from space to space.
We are so excited for the upcoming year and can’t wait to see what trends make their way into our designs ahead.
